iphone 3g
Last year, it was a piece of cake to get the iPhone. AT&T sold out very quickly, but the Apple Store had plenty, and even the next day, you could walk in at any time of the day, and get one.
But this year, it's a different story. I didn't get it on launch day since I went to Myrtle Beach. I did get it a week later and I stood in line for six hours! I thought I'd go right when it opened, and leave one hour later, but one hour turned into two, two to three, etc.
After a few hours, we were given tickets that guaranteed we were getting a phone. The popular color seemed to be black, but I wanted something different, so I got a white.
Best of all, this was free from my company!

An iPhone? 3g? I don't even have a regular cell phone.

No cell phone at all??? Why not? You can get one that only makes emergency calls, at least. Those are either free or low cost, and I think free to make an emergency call.
nice! I haven't seen one yet.

Emergency calls only? Where would I get one?

I'm not sure, because I never got one just for that purpose (except back in 1996 or so, when my mom gave me an analog phone), but check out http://www.consumersearch.com/www/electronics/prepaid-wireless/ and google. I know for a fact that they exist; I just don't know how to get one.
showoff
I was considering the iPhone, but the monthly rates are a bit much. I do need to get a new iPod this weekend, my old one died...thinking about getting an iPod Touch.

LOL, and all the talking you do on your blog about all of your tech toys isn't???

I never said I wasn't, haha. But at least I paid for all my toys! =P

The iphone is really great, and the ipod touch is basically the same thing, so I highly recommend it. You can jailbreak it and add all kinds of cool third party apps. It's like a toy that never gets old. You can get e-books, games, dictionaries (Japanese, Chinese, etc.), and a lot more. Make sure you get an "invisible shield" for it.
