Free iphone - would you take it or not?
My annual review just came up, and in addition to a raise, my boss offered to get me the iPhone, for free. However, now I'm having second thoughts. The iPhone uses only WiFi (not many free Wifi spots around this country) or the horribly slow EDGE network, instead of the wonderfully fast 3G (which is widely available in Hong Kong and Japan).
Is the EDGE network a dealbreaker? Should I just wait until the next model comes out next year, which will probably be thinner, have 3G support, etc.? It might be called iPhone nano, like the iPod.
So what would you do? Get the iPhone now, or wait?

Wow. For free. That's cool. Um...I'm going to say wait on it because its still a first generation so even though it looks and sounds perfect, there's still going to be more improvements made.
it's free. if you think your boss will get you one later, or you don't mind spending the money yourself later, then wait.
hey, it's free. not sure why you're even contemplating on this. there are so many people camping out right now to get it and you've been offered a free one just like that, haha.
i don't even like the thing, even if it was free i'd pass, you still have to pay the $60 minimum plan per month.
If your boss is willing to pay for the monthly service, then I'd get it. You could always sell it later. If not, then ask for the $500 in cash
if you're getting it for free, might as well take it and then sell it.
i would wait..unless he don't mind you selling it.
get it and resell it cuz those things are hard to come by, my friend who owns a cell phone store says that people are willing to pay $150 over retail.
wait.
wait it out man. It's not worth it now. Get the widescreen ipods that are coming out at the end of the year. The phone part of it really sux
