  • Bleach

So it seems that Bleach premiered on CN last Saturday at 12:30 AM (technically early Sunday morning).  I have no idea how it was since I dont have cable, but I am aware that the opening song and ending was kept intact. Normally, when an anime is shown in America, they change the opening and ending to some heavy-metal type song that is annoying, like they did w/Dragon Ball Z.

Anime in America is really boring IMHO -- especially when US companies try to cash in on a popular anime.  Like Naruto... they make stuff like Konoha baseball caps, Naruto wristbands, etc.  Stuff that doesn't seem as cool as the stuff they sell in Japan.

So anyway, I went to pick up New Super Mario Bros. for the DS and the guy there asked me if I wanted to put down a deposit for any games.  Initially, I thought "no, I don't like US games; I import most of my stuff" but then I decided I wanted FF III, so I put down $5.  Buying games in the US has no advantages compared to Japanese games.  If you preorder a game from Japan, it usually comes with some kind of neat preorder gift.  Naruto 4 for GC game w/a Pakkun pouch.  Naruto Portable for PSP came with a konoha PSP case.  What do I get for preordering FFIII in the US?  NOTHING!

I know this was a geek post.  I've become such a geeky gamer in the past few months, because work can get boring and I'll just daydream, reading videogame sites on the internet all day.  J doesn't like me playing games (my PS2 was collecting dust when I first started going out w/her) so this is an addiction I have to control.

  • i stopped watching bleach after episode 55 or so, the fillers just got really boring and kinda killed it, but i'm still downloading the series, it is never going to end.

i usually don't pre-order games unless i know it's going to sell out, and nowadays it never really does, so i just buy it when it comes out and it goes on sale, or i do the best-buy 'trick' where you buy the gamer gift cards that have the $5 coupon on it, and just put like $5 on the card and you pretty much have a 'free' $5 coupon to use, so you knock the game down $5.  i have too many games to play with nowadays so i sometimes just wait for price drops.

you want an evil site to search? http://www.cheapassgamer.com if you don't already know about it...

my gf only gets annoyed when i play sports games, as long as i'm not playing a sports game she'll watch or play with her own games too.

  • yeah I hear ya. that's why I don't preorder stuff... unless it's like an xbox 360 or something, in which case I'd ebay it :)

  • ryc: the special edition DSs are ok, none of them really stand out for me yet... the pink DS is my gf's, i'm using my old DS, with no plans to upgrade, unless the enamel blue comes out in the US... lol

i'll be in MD when the Wii launch is happening, i already called an EB games in MD to see if they are accepting pre-orders yet for the Wii (which they are starting only Zelda Wii preorders tomorrow) because i want to try to avoid having to stalk BB, TRU, CC or any other store on the day of the launch.  I'll get my gf's sister to do the pre-order for me.. lol
