vacation
I realize I haven't blogged for a while. I simply feel that my life is too boring to blog about.
Joanne and I are going on vacation tomorrow. We're going to Vegas for about nine days and eight nights. I don't really care for gambling, but I'll probably play some blackjack. We're mainly going for the shows. I worry that all they have there is buffet style food, but I've read that there are some nice restaurants as well.
As a late birthday present, Joanne got me the camcorder of my dreams: the Sony HDR-HC1, rated as camcorderinfo.com's 2005 camcorder of the year. It records in true 1080i! (For those that don't know, that implies HD.) It truly is a great "prosumer" camcorder that offers a lot of manual control, which is a must if you want to get good results, instead of relying on a point-and-shoot camera. I won't bore you any more with the details, but it's really fun learning how to make the most of this poweful camera.
I recorded her graduation today, and although I have steady hands with still photography, I can't keep a steady hand with a camcorder. Or maybe it's just that everything I've read always recommended to get a tripod, and its gotten to my head that I won't be able to stablilize the camcorder without one.
After the graduation, we went to Dave and Buster's to eat and play. I was on fire today at both versions of basketball (the "short" one and the "real", 10-ft style one.) Later, a hispanic guy gave me some tickets, and then was acting foolish by giving me one of those handshakes that people into hip-hop like to give and a "manly" hug. I like to think I have a sense of humor, but I really didn't appreciate that. I might even interpret that as him seeing me as an Asian guy and thinking I'm some kind of easy target/wuss. Anyway, I'll try not to be so gullible next time. When we left, it was raining really hard. Most people were going about 25 MPH on the beltway. Luckily, I'll be leaving this rain-soaked area for somewhere nicer.
So, what are we gonna do in Vegas? Mostly shows (Cirque du Soleil). I don't know what else; I'll see when I get there!

Which CIrque show are you going to? there are 3 I think now btw go to the blue man group show they're sooo good =) and also the Bellagio has the best buffet, I know you didn't want to hear there, but also Rio has a good seafood buffet that has really good lobster =) ok enough buffets but the Bellaio has a few good places to eat, also Paris has a few good place along with Mandalay Bay. Check those places out. Have fun and if you're going to come to LA leave me a blog message or email me, maybe we can hook up and meet up in person finally...it would be cool
