  • My boss treats me to a free dinner or lunch, every month, just to see
    how I'm doing, if I have any problems or complaints, etc. 
    Although I appreciate it (it's more attention than I was getting at my
    other company, which has ~ 500,000+ [I dont remember the exact
    number]), we always end up going to these super-fancy restaurants that
    I normally don't frequent.  Ever since college, I've gotten more
    in touch with my Asian side (before that, I was a super-banana) and I
    prefer cheap, Asian restaurants.  Anyway, we ate a really fancy
    steak restaurant, where the waiter brushed the crumbs off the table
    with something that looked like a mini-shoehorn after we were done
    eating.  Again, I wouldn't mind eating at such a place, say, if I
    were 10 years younger, but now it just seems strange.

    If I had my choice, I'd be working some kind of job that required
    physical labor.  It's too easy to get fat working at a computer
    all day, even though I try to get up once an hour.

    Anyway, Naruto is coming out for PS2, next quarter, 2006.  No one
    understands my fascination/obsession with Naruto -- the anime, the
    games, toys, etc.  I'm going to import the third game for Game
    Cube, and play that until the PS2 game comes out.

  • did you mod your GC? or have the 'freeloader'? if not, you won't be able to play the naruto game for GC...

  • hehe, man, I need free dinners like that. I only get that when I'm about to leave the company, haha.

    Although they're nice, I do prefer the "cheaper" stuff too. Nothing wrong with variety, ya know? Plus if you have "fancy" food all the time, you'll get sick of it.

    And just cuz you're a programmer doesn't you can't do physical labor on your own. That's why you should goto the gym after work :P .

  • free lunches are nice.  free lunches to fancy restaurants = even nicer.

  • That's so funny cuz I am the exact opposite. All growing up my parents would take me to Chinese restaurants. I think I've been to more of them in the area than anyone else I know. Nowadays I can't stomach it more than once or twice a week.

    I absolutely love 'fancy' places now and you know they are fancy when they sweep your bread crumbs away. Heh. But most of all I never complain about free food.

  • ugh...tell me about getting fat. i used to be skinnier from working outdoors. bleh.

  • ryc: umbrellas can't help high winds and heavy rains... and my GC is not modded, nor do i use the freeloader, there aren't any japanese games that i'm interested in playing for the GC, i already have more than enough US games to play, i don't need anymore.. lolz!

  • ryc x2: jim lee indeed does still draw, after wildcats he did another series called 'divine right' afterwards he took a hiatus for a few years, 2 years ago he did 12 issues of batman and last year he did 12 issues of superman, currently he's doing 'all-star batman and robin' which is up to issue #2 so far.
